We are excited to announce that due to increased enrollment and higher than projected student counts, Coal Ridge will be adding additional teachers to the staff. This will help reduce class sizes as well as provide more offerings for our students. We are going to add two teaching positions for our 6th grade team. One teacher will teach Language Arts and Social Studies and the other will teach Math and Science. These positions have been posted through our Human Resources Department.
It is that time of year when we like to celebrate the three years our 8th graders have spent at Coal Ridge by honoring them with a "formal" dance. Our hope is that all students will attend this dance which has become a tradition here at CRMS. The cost of the dance is $5 at the door as we won't be having advance sales this year. Kids don't need dates... just come and have fun.
The dance starts at 6 pm and ends at 8 pm. Hope to see you there!
Many interested parents attended the second Camp iPad for Parents event at Coal Ridge Middle School on April 23rd.
Parents learned tips and tricks, how to adjust settings on an iPad to their liking, visited with teachers and students, discussed “wonderings” and concerns with fellow parents and educators, and enjoyed meeting parents from around the district.
We discussed screen time, organization, assignments, and several other aspects of modern student life.
Our Instrument Test Drive (formerly known as Demo Night) will take place on April 28th between 5:00 - 8:00 coinciding with 5th Grade Parent Night. If you are considering Band for next year, come and let your child "test drive" different instruments so they might get a feel for what they will want to play. Since you'll already be touring around Coal Ridge that night, please stop by the Band Room in the electives hall and see what we have to offer!
