St. Vrain Valley Schools invites the community to its annual Art Show at the Boulder County Fairgrounds Exhibition Hall from April 14-19, featuring artwork from students of all grade levels across the district. The event is free and open to the public, with viewing hours Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will also be a special Artists’ Night Open House on Thursday, April 16 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Join us in celebrating students’ creativity through ceramics, digital art, drawing, jewelry, metalwork, mixed media, painting, and printmaking.
Parent Volunteers Needed – 8th Grade Semi-Formal Dance
The 8th grade semi-formal dance on May 1st is coming up! This special event is planned and organized by 8th grade parents, and we’re looking for volunteers to help make the night a success.
It’s an exciting time for our 8th graders and one of their last big opportunities to celebrate together before heading to high school.

The first track meet of the season was a huge success—our students showed up and were absolutely epic! From start to finish, their energy, determination, and team spirit made it an unforgettable day. We couldn’t be more proud of the way they represented us out there!

ParentSquare: Our New District Communication Tool
St. Vrain Valley Schools will begin using ParentSquare, a new district communication tool that allows families to receive notifications based on their preferences. St. Vrain’s communications team will pilot ParentSquare for the remainder of the school year with the plan to expand access to schools at the start of the 2026-27 school year. We’re excited about the opportunities ParentSquare offers to streamline communication and will be working towards consolidating several of the tools families currently use into one convenient platform.
After spring break, parents and guardians will receive an email invitation to activate their ParentSquare account. This will allow families to download the mobile app, set language preferences, and choose how and when they receive notifications.

The Coal Ridge Middle School Parent Advisory Group (PAG) is excited to celebrate our incredible teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week, Monday, May 4th – Friday, May 8th!
Our goal is to show heartfelt appreciation to the amazing educators and support staff who pour their time, energy, and dedication into our students every single day. Throughout the week, PAG will be organizing special treats, surprises, and meaningful gestures to recognize their hard work and commitment.

Project Launch 2026 — Coal Ridge Middle School
Project Launch is a fun, camp-like summer program where students build reading and math skills in small classes with St. Vrain teachers, helping them start the new school year strong.

Meet Mr. Sean Flynn
8th Grade Science
Mr. Flynn has been a valued member of our school community for 12 years. He teaches science, a music writing class, and our ELD classes, bringing energy and creativity to everything he does. Beyond the classroom, he coaches Track & Field and Cross Country and leads our Rock Climbing Club, inspiring students to challenge themselves and try new things.
In his free time, Sean enjoys playing music and running ultra marathons. One of his most impressive accomplishments is completing a 100-mile race in Steamboat Springs—an incredible feat he finished in just 34.5 hours!
