Co-Curricular Activities

At Coal Ridge Middle School we offer a plethora of clubs and activities so that every child has a place where they feel they belong.

Art Club meets on Wednesday afternoons from 3:00-4:15 pm.  It is a time to draw, paint, sculpt and be creative with other enthusiastic artists.  Art Club is a time to create your own projects that you might not have time to make during class.  We work with pencils, colored pencils, markers, Sharpies, watercolor and acrylic paints – and sometimes even clay!

Does the rhythm of music move you? Dance club could be the club for you! This student run club gives students an opportunity to explore dance and perform in at least one performance. Dance club will begin in the fall. Information coming soon!

Drama Club provides an opportunity for students to work as a co-operative team in the mounting of a spring theatrical productions. Students will have the opportunity to act, design, build, publicize, run lights, engineer sound and manage under the supervision of the staff members who advise on the artistic, business and technical aspects of a production.  Drama Club is a great place to explore one’s creativity, master self-discipline and presentation skills as well as make lasting friendships. Information will be coming later in the school year.

Together we will learn different types of gardening from traditional out door gardening to indoor hydroponics.  We will also focus on school beautification of the grounds. Gardening Club will meet on scheduled Tuesdays from 3:00 – 4:15 pm.

Card Club is a place for students who love all varieties of table-top games to come and find people to play against as well as new games to learn. We meet every Wednesday from 3:00 until 4:15 pm.

Homework club offers additional help to students who need it. This club is offered Monday & Wednesday from 3:00-4:15 pm.

At CRMS students are expected to volunteer 10 hours at school and 10 hours out of school. Last year our group volunteered for over 1600 hours! NJHS also runs the canned food drive each December as well as other donations throughout the year. NJHS meets after school on pre scheduled dates with the first meeting being August 17, 2023.

The Robotics Club meets on Mondays from 3:00-4:15 pm in the Tech Lab B216. Our first meeting is September 7, 2022. If you would like to learn more about  building, designing, coding, or driving robots be sure to stop by!

We are also looking for parent volunteers to help in a broad range of commitment levels including coaching, fundraising, grant writing and contributing snacks.

Did you know Colorado is a destination for rock climbers from all over the world? Have you ever wanted to try rock climbing but didn’t know where to start? Well, now you can learn right here at CRMS!  Join the Climbing Club beginning this November. More information on meeting days and times coming soon.

The Future City Competition Club will be focus on building a waste free City. This club will be offered Thursdays after school from 3:00-4:15 in our RAD Lab.

Yearbook is the club that captures the best moments of our school year. At the end of each year we pick 15-20 current 7th graders to be part of this awesome club and class during their 8th grade year. Our goal for the year is to make a book of memories we will cherish forever.
