Meet the CRMS Staff: Red Hawk of the week
Each week, we’ll shine the spotlight on a member of our amazing staff, giving our families a chance to learn more about the people who make our school special.
Meet Ms. Natalee Swan

Principal
Growing up in Northern Minnesota, I learned to embrace the long, cold, snowy winters, which instilled in me a resilience and appreciation for nature’s beauty. These early experiences shaped my adventurous spirit and continue to influence my love for outdoor activities. My journey in education spans 26 years, with 13 of those dedicated to administrative roles. I am currently in my third year at Coal Ridge Middle School, a community that I have grown to cherish for its vibrant spirit and commitment to student excellence.
My personal life is as dynamic as my professional one. I am proud to be the parent of two remarkable children who are both college athletes at the University of Montana. Their dedication and passion for sports inspire me daily. As a family, we enjoy our free time by traveling and exploring the great outdoors, often skiing and other adventurous pursuits. These experiences not only strengthen our family but also provide a welcome balance to my time spent at school.
At Coal Ridge, I find immense joy in working with students and being part of a school that feels like home. The opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of young minds is incredibly rewarding. I am passionate about fostering a nurturing environment where every student can thrive, drawing on my past experience to lead with empathy and vision. My love for this school and its community continues to fuel my dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of students and staff alike.
