Heads up, Coal Ridge! 🎉
There’s no school on Friday, February 13, or Monday, February 16—time to relax, recharge, and maybe sneak in a little fun!
Coal Ridge Middle School is excited to kick off this year’s Kids Heart Challenge! ❤️
With help from this year’s Heart Heroes, students are learning how to keep their hearts healthy through movement, kindness, rest, and knowing when to ask for help.
Join the fun by visiting HEART.ORG/SCHOOLS or downloading the AHA Schools app. Bonus: students receive a free wristband just for signing up!

🚨 Important Dance Update! 🚨
The 7th Grade Dance is getting a new groove! 🪩
Instead of Thursday, 2/12, the dance will now be on Wednesday, 2/18 from 3:00–4:00 PM because of an All-State Choir conflict.
Yearbook Ordering Deadline Approaching
FEBRUARY 20th is the last chance to order a book and guarantee your child has one when they are delivered. After this date, we will only order a few extra books that will be sold while supplies last.
Visit jostensyearbooks.com to reserve your copy. If you have already purchased a book, thank you!

In Ms. Rago’s class, 7th grade science students are mapping the supercontinent Pangaea to uncover how Earth’s tectonic plates moved long ago.

Pic of the Week

Seventh grader Trent Martinez dominated on the mat, earning an impressive pin to secure a big win as Coal Ridge kicked off the season by hosting Mead Middle School! 💪🤼♂️
Go Nuts for Giving!
A local 4-H club is hosting a peanut butter drive, please bring any donations to the front office! Thank you!

Clothing Donations needed!

We are currently accepting clothing donations to support our middle school students, with a specific need for girls’ leggings, sweatpants, joggers, and other comfortable bottoms in middle school sizes. These items are often needed during the school day for a variety of reasons, and having extras on hand helps ensure students feel comfortable, confident, and ready to learn. New or gently used items in clean, good condition are greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping care for our students and supporting our school community!
Meet the CRMS Staff: Red Hawk of the week
Each week, we’ll shine the spotlight on a member of our amazing staff, giving our families a chance to learn more about the people who make our school special.
Meet Officer Luke Dunker

School Resource Officer
I have been part of the CRMS community for 14 years and have served as a police officer for 15 years. I truly love what I do and chose this career because of my passion for working with kids. One of the most meaningful parts of my job is building strong relationships with students and getting to know them as individuals. I strive to be a safe, trusted resource—someone students can turn to whenever they need support. My door is always open, and any student is welcome to stop by at any time. I wouldn’t want to do any other job or be anywhere else but here at CRMS.
Outside of work, when I’m not in uniform, I enjoy playing golf, coaching the Frederick Elite Golden Eagles football team, attending concerts, spending time with my kids and grandkids, and making memories with good friends.
