Quarter 3 Honor Roll Certificates

Parents, please be on the lookout for Quarter 3 Honor Roll certificates which will be distributed next Wednesday.

The eighth grade semi-formal dance is quickly approaching on Friday May 1st. This event is so much fun every year and we love being able to see the 8th graders have a great time! That being said, I know a lot of you are already helping or have recently reached out to see what else we need. Here is an Amazon Wishlist link of things we are still in need of, you can ship them to yourself and have your student bring them in, or have them shipped to the school at 6201 Booth Dr. Firestone, CO 80504.

We appreciate anything you feel like giving and thank you all so much for your support, we are looking forward to celebrating this special event with your students!

Two groups of young people in red aprons serve drinks. One group is at a cart, the other at a table with coffee makers.

Our awesome students have launched a coffee cart delivery for staff, and it’s been such a bright spot in our building! From taking orders to making deliveries, they’re building real-world skills, confidence, and connections with staff along the way. We’re so proud of their hard work and the positive energy they bring each day—plus, the coffee is a pretty great bonus!

The Coal Ridge Middle School Parent Advisory Group (PAG) is excited to celebrate our incredible teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week, Monday, May 4th – Friday, May 8th!

Our goal is to show heartfelt appreciation to the amazing educators and support staff who pour their time, energy, and dedication into our students every single day. Throughout the week, PAG will be organizing special treats, surprises, and meaningful gestures to recognize their hard work and commitment.

We invite our CRMS families and community to partner with us by making a donation to help make this week extra special. Every contribution—big or small—helps us show just how much our teachers and staff are valued.

Meet the CRMS Staff: Red Hawk of the week

Each week, we’ll shine the spotlight on a member of our amazing staff, giving our families a chance to learn more about the people who make our school special.

Meet Mr. Sam Brown

A person in a red shirt poses with star-shaped glasses and a bandaged hand, expressing a playful attitude.

6th grade Language Arts

I am finishing my third year of teaching after earning my Master’s in Education from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2019. I also completed my undergraduate degree in Communication at CU Boulder in 2014. I was inspired to pursue teaching after my experience working at Camp Walt Whitman in New Hampshire.

One of my favorite parts of teaching 6th grade—besides working with Ms. Green—is that no matter how stressful or challenging the day can be, there is always something that makes me laugh. Whether it’s a perfectly timed sarcastic comment, a moment of classic middle school awkwardness, or a well-delivered “dad joke,” my students bring a lot of joy to each day.

Outside of school, I enjoy reading, going to the movies, fly fishing, and playing rugby. During the summers, I often return to New Hampshire to work as a counselor, where I spend time hiking in the White Mountains and driving boats on Lake Winnipesaukee.
