Principal’s Update

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Next Tuesday, October 24, we will be hosting our annual Student Showcase from 6 to 7 pm.  We will begin in the commons at 6 pm with a short presentation by administration followed by an open house from 6:15 – 7 pm where teachers will showcase student work. This is a great opportunity for future CRMS families to come and tour the school.

Next Friday, October 27, our WEB leaders are proud to be sponsoring a 6th grade dance from 3 to 4 pm. There is no entrance fee, however, there will be snacks to purchase and we encourage our 6th graders to bring bills less than $10 if they wish to purchase a snack.  Although the dance will have a Halloween theme, we ask that students do not wear costumes and save the costumes for October 31st.  WEB will hold a 7th grade dance in February and our 8th graders will celebrate with a semi-formal dance in May.

We encourage staff and students to wear costumes to school on October 31st.  Costumes need to be appropriate for school, with no weapons or blood, and no full face masks.  Please keep in mind that we still want learning to be the focus of our day while we have some fun for Halloween.

As always, please reach out with any questions or suggestions.

Sincerely,

Liza

6th grade students using daily planner

Daily Planners

This week, students received daily planners in their advisory class. Each class period, the students write down their assignments for that class and then mark off what they completed that day at the end of class. Anything that is not completed in class will be homework. Please add checking your child’s planner to your nightly routine in order to help them stay on top of their work.

Picture Re-Takes

Picture re-takes will be on Thursday, Oct. 26. Re-takes will only be allowed for students who were not present for picture day or for students whose parents wish for the picture to be retaken. If you would like your child to get their picture retaken, please send them to school with their picture package. They will return their package to Studio 5 on the day of the picture retakes and get their picture retaken. Please get in touch with Traci Banker ([email protected]) in the front office with any questions.

6th Grade Dance

Friday, Oct. 27 from 3:00 – 4:00 pm

This dance is free to attend for all 6th grade students. The dance will be from 3:00 – 4:00 pm. Students must be picked up promptly at 4:00 pm. If your child cannot get picked up by 4:00 pm or earlier, they cannot attend the dance.

Concessions will be available for purchase, but we cannot break any bills larger than $10.00.

Halloween Oct. 31

Students can wear Halloween costumes to school on Tuesday, Oct. 31. Halloween costumes must comply with the school dress code and cannot interfere with the learning environment. Masks and face paint that conceal the student’s identity will not be allowed. All bloody, gory, or violent components of the costume must be left at home. If your child has questions about their costume, please have them check in with an administrator.

Non-School-Related Item

Parents, we request your help ensuring that students leave all non-school-related items at home. We have seen an increase in toys and stuffed animals at school. These create a distraction in our classrooms.
