Students are working hard to prepare for the debut of Coal Ridge Middle School’s Little Mermaid next Thursday and Friday.
Principal’s Update
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Honor Roll certificates are being printed! All students with a 3.0 – 3.49 will receive a certificate in advisory on Monday, April 8th. All students with a 3.5 and higher will be rewarded during school on Tuesday April 9th with a certificate and a treat. We are also excited to be inviting current 6th and 7th graders with a 3.75 GPA or higher to become a member of the National Junior Honor Society for the 24-25 school year. Invitations were handed out today. There is a required application process. If you have questions please contact NJHS sponsors, Brittney Green or Jodi Marsolek.
As we near the end of the school year, we will continue to prioritize student well-being and our strong school culture. We are aware of national trends across social media that are encouraging students to engage in verbal or physical altercations and to share videos of these events, as well as other trends encouraging behaviors that are not in-line with our community expectations. Accordingly, we are meeting with classrooms this week to reinforce responsible technology use and everyone’s role in being a positive member of our school community. We are sharing this information with families so that you can also continue these conversations at home in a way you feel most appropriate. Any behavior that negatively impacts anyone in our school community will not be tolerated, and we want to ensure a strong finish to the school year for all of our students.
As always, if you have any questions or suggestions, please contact me to have a conversation.
Sincerely,
Liza
Late Start on Wednesday, April 3. Buses will run 2.5 hours after their normal start time. School will start at 10:15 am.

CMAS Testing
On Tuesday, April 9, we will begin the CMAS test. The test will begin promptly at 7:45 am, so please help your students get to school on time. Students will be taking the CMAS test on their iPads, so we ask that they charge their iPads the night before to be ready for the test the next morning. For any student who comes to school with a device that is not charged, we need to keep their iPad at school to charge until the end of the testing period. After the test, students can read a physical book; please talk to your child about bringing a book to school. After we have finished testing, students will attend all of their classes on a modified schedule.
