Principal Update
Another Busy Week!
We had another eventful week here at Coal Ridge. On Wednesday and Thursday, we hosted Parent-Teacher Conferences, and it was a pleasure connecting with students and families as we approach the end of the first quarter. If you missed it, don’t worry! We’ll host one more night of conferences next week on Tuesday.
It’s hard to believe September is coming to an end! As we move into the fall season, we want to share some important safety information with you. Did you know that the State of Colorado follows the International Fire Code? This code applies to every public and charter school across the state. As part of this, schools are required to conduct a fire drill within ten days of the first day of school and then once a month thereafter. On Thursday morning, we completed our monthly fire drill, and we couldn’t be prouder of our students for their focus and cooperation.
As we near the end of the quarter, please remind your children to stay on top of their work. Our Big 3 remains as important as ever:
- Every class, every day, on time.
- Turn in every assignment.
- Be kind, even when it’s hard.
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting our students!
We were also thrilled to have our first orchestra concert for our 7th and 8th graders on Tuesday. Our students did an amazing job! Looking ahead, next Thursday, we will host our first band concerts of the year. The 6th grade performance will begin at 6:00 PM, followed by the 7th, 8th, and Jazz Band performances at 7:00 PM.
We love spending our days with these amazing students and look forward to the exciting events ahead!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Warm Regards,
Natalee Swan, Principal
Parent Corner: Infinite Campus vs. Schoology
We use two programs to help keep kids organized and on track. The first is Infinite Campus, where you can find your child’s grades and attendance and pay for their school fees. If you need help setting up access to Infinite Campus, please call or email Traci Banker ([email protected] or 303-833-4176), and she will walk you through the process.
The second program we use is Schoology, where teachers post the daily work for their classes. Every class will have a “Current Work” folder with the assignments listed by the dates they were assigned. Traci Banker can help you set-up a parent account in Schoology or you can ask your child to show you their Schoology.
